Inspired by Remiiya Badru’s research for her Rhumblines project she will be sharing aspects of her unique research journey in the archives of National Maritime Museum. A walk that explores lesser known narratives of black and indigenous voices at sea, through conversations as a shared and mobile community.
Commencing from Maze Hill station, we will be mapping a range of narratives of key black figures who changed the course of history with their contributions, leaving poignant legacies, which continue to reverberate today. Stops at key sites, weaving our way around through Greenwich Park, Ignatius Sancho Cafe, and ending at Queen’s House (the National Maritime Museum) to look at new acquisitions to the collections.
Join InspiralLondon and walking artist Remiiya Badru for this shortish walk from Maze Hill, pass the plaque to Olaudah Equiano, through Greenwich Park and down towards the River Thames back to The Queens House. During this walk they will be time for interactive discussion.
The walk is part Hydracity 2 (for Totally Thames 2025) follows Hydracity the exhibition and event which took place as part of Totally Thames 2021.
