CHOHW Memotrial toWard the Watery Commons (4-7pm Sunday 27th Sept)

Perched for a time on the tidal beach, between segments 6 and 7 of InspiralLondon Trail, we invite you to join us at start of a two hour walking detour to the confluence of Bow Creek, Channelsea River, Limehouse Cut, Lea River and Lee Navigation; here, to search out the perpetual flame at Twelvetrees Memorial Garden. In tracing these confluences, the memories and fluid nature of the city and its material, we invite you to make your own Memotrial toWard a Watery Commons.

This is a specially commissioned walk for CHOHW event – at low tide on Sunday 27 September – meet by Three Colt Gallery from 4pm – come prepared to walk with a mask (full socially compliant instructions on day).

For pre-screening view of: Inspiral Ghost Dance‘, Sarah Sparkes, 2018, 5’15”

Inspiral Ghost Dance is an Inspiral London Commission. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Sarah Sparkes’ ‘Inspiral Ghost Dance‘ features a performance with members of the Inspiral London Collective, walking in spiralling formation, viewed by a mysterious ‘watcher’ above. Together, over three years, we walked an anti-clockwise spiral from the centre of London to Gravesend. This film shows us on the final leg of the walk. The singing was made by our collective at a workshop led by Anne Robinson and Mikey Georgeson. The Drone was operated by Ben Foong. It was all a joyful collaborative experience and I made this film to celebrate.
