A day of Re/walking and adventure on InspiralLondon Trail – Elstree to Ruislip Gardens – postponed

July 20 @ 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

Apologies due to weather this walk has been canceled and will be rescheduled for late summer/early autumn.

Our next epic Rewalking of the Trail on Segments 27 and following Segment 28.

Will take us from Elstree and Borehamwood over the gentle hills and slopes of  North West London to Northwood Hills before dropping down towards Thames flood plains at Southhall. If you interested in a long varied walk through London then this is one for you. With stunning variety – contrasting the wild and unkempt beauty of urban natural spaces with the expanded infrastructure of the city – encountering wild meadows, heath, forest, river, canal, trunk roads and gyratories. Please bring a picnic and remmeber to wear suitable footwear/clothes for the weather conditions. We will take regular stops along the way but bring plenty of water.

Part of Re/Walk Festival – Excavate, Explore, Exchange. Joining us to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of InspiralLondon Trail (May 2025-Aug 2025), remapping and rewalking together, alongside Songlines for Greenwich BH365 celebrations (May 2025 – July 2025)

In 2015 an intrepid group of walking artists finished mapping a new spiral trail, tracing a pathway through 30 London Boroughs. As we near the trails 10th anniversary InspiralLondon invites new communities, individuals, and groups to re-discover their city through this unique inspiralling walk. During 2024 and into Summer 2025, we will re-walk, and re-tell, the story of this 300 mile trail as we re-spiral through London. Follow the collection of walks HERE

Re/Walk Festival – Excavate, Explore, Exchange – Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of InspiralLondon Trail with a festival of seven plus seven, unique walks as participatory experiences. The festival walks will take you to other hidden and less well-known parts of the city; detouring from the trail, in exploring underexplored, buried aspects of the city or walking together by night.

We wish to share the magic and multiplicity of the city with all its diverse inhabitants, and to get you walking; to explore the city with renewed curiosity, by excavating the other buried narratives and histories that make London so unique. Together, we will re/walk and re/make the city by foot.

Re/walk is generously supported by tfl WCGL grant, the Royal Borough of Greenwich and other walking group partners such as Kinetika T-100, Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park, Walking Artist Network and soundcamp.
