As we near the trails 10th anniversary InspiralLondon invites new communities\, individuals\, and groups to re-discover their city through this unique inspiralling walk. During 2024 and into Summer 2025\, we will re-walk\, and re-tell\, the story of this 300 mile trail as we re-spiral through London. \nRe-walking InspiralLondon is a walking adventure that offers Londoners opportunities to join short walks\, walking workshops and to participate in exploring the unexpected landscapes opened up through the inspirallondon trail. Walking together so we can share in the wonder and variety of the Metropole\, and to be more aware of ourselves and others\, in celebrating all the diverse life that inhabits the city. \nIn 2025 this shared story\, made from rewalking together\, and with new inspirallondon adventurers\, will culminate in a festival of walking and in the final Re-Walking London publication as an alternative guide to walking in and through the city (scheduled Spring 2026). This walk and guide co-created from the collective imagination and overlapping stories of all Londoners. \n \nInspiralLondon Rewalk is funded by tfl Walking and Cycling Grants for London (2024-2025) \n \nWe will be rewalking the trail over 2024-2025 with over 40 plus walks. Updated information on the schedule and how you can get involved.\n \nFor next cycle of Re-walking see June 2025 schedule. \nA number of short linked walks offer a magical unexpected taster and opening to the majesty and scope of the trail – for example Four linked walks for Retellings on 12th July – yas we re-walk together through 2024-2025\, in conversation with the ever changing cityscape of London. \nYou can visit our map to get inspired and see where the trail passes. \n \n

SUMMARY:Made on the Mardyke/Made by the River Thames - Totally Thames 2025
DESCRIPTION:Made on the Mardyke/Made by the River Thames. Rainham Marshes Part 2 \n \nJoin us on Saturday 6th September 11am-4.30pm  – part of Totally Thames Festival 2025 \nIn the morning join artists Charlie Fox and Sylak Ravenspine for a river creature making workshop\, where you can learn or share new skills and explore the creaturely materials found in the Thames. Materials partially transformed by the river’s own skills and vitality refashioned as the hybrid skins of mythical new creatures. This workshop is generously supported by Kinetika People and T100. \nThen weather permitting –after lunch – we will move on with the creatures to explore the River Thames near the Mardyke confluence\, and search for the emerging creatures… looking into the past\, experiencing the present and imagining into future: in the next 100\, 1000\, 10\,000\, million years – imagining what hybrid creatures will appear in the post-natural environment of the Thames Delta?  PLEASE BOOK HERE \n \nWith workshop participants and the creative input from the river as it transforms the materials that make up its environment\, we encounter some creatures from the near future emerging from the River Thames. And as we picnic together\, by the river\, we will discuss the Mardyke and the larger Thames rivers – as natural resources\, grappling with all the human waste and pollution thrown their way; to think about how the river digests this waste\, transforms it and is transformed\, in a hybrid cycle of regenerations. \n\n\n\n11am-1.3opm Workshop Making.\nPicnic/lunch break\n2pm- 4.30pm pm walk to Thames/Mardyke confluence with the creatures.\n\n\n\nFor the day of exploration: \nPlease note – you are advised to bring a picnic\, wear suitable clothes\, shoes for weather conditions – some refreshments including water (tea and coffee) will be provided. We are asking for donations from £5-10 to support the work of InspiralLondon – If you cannot afford to donate then email contact@inspirallondon.com and we can reserve you a free space. \n \nPart of Totally Thames 2025 and generously supported by Kinetika and T100 walking projects: \n  \n
