SUMMARY:ReWalk Segment 15 - Silver Street to Woodside Park
DESCRIPTION:Join our summer season of ReWalking on Segment 15 – Silver Street to Woodside Park.\nPlease SIGN UP here \nWe meet at 2.30pm (22 June 2024) outside the eixt of Siver Street Station (Overground)\, close to Pymmes Brook Park. This segment follows something of the Pymmes Brook Pathway (devised the intrepid rambler and walk designer Colin Saunders)\, to follow the pathway of a redesigned Segment 15.Tracing the Brook nearby the main roads we encounter some extraordinary bucolic scenes before reaching Arno’s Park. Here we will stop and marvel at the Arno Park viaduct and luxuriate in its cooling archways\, strolling by the Brook. Then we leave the Pymmes Brook Trail at Waterfall road\, to cascade toward Woodside Park. On the way we traverse Bethine Park and the unexpected wildness in Friary Park where we cross another ‘un/lost’ brook – Blacketts Brook. \n“Pymmes Brook is one of North London’s longer rivers\, though not especially well known. It flows mostly through Barnet and Enfield\, for the most part above ground\, then somewhere around Edmonton heads underground before emerging as a tamed brutalist channel. A ten mile waymarked route follows the brook downstream – the Pymmes Brook Trail – the first half quite pleasant and the second part rather less so.  online maps” \n \nSee The Unlost Rivers of London \n\nPicnicing on the New River – near to Pymmes Brook confluence (Inspiral 2016)\nPart of InspiralLondon ReWalk\, ReMap\, ReTell 2024-2025\nFrom Spring 2024 to 2025 InspiralLondon sets out to rewalk\, remap and retell the 300 mile spiral trail\, first walked in 2015. We invite all kinds of walkers\, urban explorers and the curious to experience the magic of this unique pathway. Supported by Mayor of London TfL walking and cycling grant.
